지금도 파는지는 모르겠지만 예전에 커피향 나는 껌이 있었는데 그 껌 씹으면서 글렌모렌지 18년을 마시면 이런 비슷한 느낌이지 않을까😀
증류전에 몰트를 로스팅하는것이 얼마나 효과가 있겠나 싶었지만 향과 맛을 찾으려 애써 노력하지 않아도 이건 꽤 커피의 그 느낌이 다분히도 느껴진다. 그리고 중간중간 느껴지는 쵸코렛맛도 상당히 기분좋게 다가옴. 피니쉬도 꽤 긴편.
그동안 마셔봤던 글렌모렌지들의 특성에 쵸코와 커피로 바디감을 얹어줘서 꽤 맛있다고 느끼게 해줌.
담배는 안피우지만 약간 시가랑 페어링하면 좋을것 같다는 느낌이 든다.
나중에 기회되면 좋은시가 하나 사서 달모어 시가몰트랑 글렌모렌지 시그넷이랑 안주삼아 태워보고싶......아아니

I don't know if they still sell it, but there used to be a coffee-flavored chewing gum, and I bet chewing that while drinking Glenmorangie 18 would feel something like this😀
I wondered how much difference roasting the malt before distillation could really make, but even without trying hard to hunt for aromas and flavors, you get a really strong coffee feel from this one. And the chocolate that pops up here and there is really pleasant too. The finish is fairly long as well.
It takes the character of the Glenmorangies I've tried so far and layers body on top with chocolate and coffee, which makes it pretty delicious.
I don't smoke, but I get the feeling it'd pair nicely with a cigar.
If I get the chance someday, I'd like to buy a good cigar and smoke it with a Dalmore Cigar Malt and a Glenmorangie Signet on the side...... wait, no,
If you ever need to give a nice gift to someone you're personally grateful to,
(especially if they don't know much about whisky)
how about gifting them a Glenmorangie Signet instead of the same old Johnnie Walker or Ballantine's?
As expected of a child of that family (LVMH),
you'll have a hard time finding a whisky with such a luxurious box and bottle among whiskies of a similar price and availability.
It's excellent as a display piece too!
The stopper is nice and hefty as well, so even opening it is a pleasure!
And! Taste-wise, it's a distinctive whisky that can satisfy everyone from whisky nerds to beginners, so I highly, highly recommend it as a gift!
(But, however, nevertheless~ some of the elders around me think whisky = Ballantine's, whisky = Royal Salute!, and some are very sensitive about age statements, so from their point of view they might go, 'What?! Some no-name liquor that doesn't even have a number on it (NAS)!?? Tsk!?'... Come on, just give it a try first, will you?????) Coffee, chocolate, cigar

Personally, I think a good whisky is one that has its own personality, is complex yet keeps all those flavors and aromas well balanced, is crowd-pleasing, and on top of that comes at a reasonable price - and from that point of view, I think Glenmorangie Signet is a pretty well-made whisky.
So I think it'd make a great gift, and in that spirit, anyone want to gift me one??? 🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️?!?
