셰리입문 필수코스이자 블렌디드와 싱글몰트의 다른점을 한잔으로도 쉽게 설명해주는 글렌드로낙 12년,

개인적으로 요새의 맥캘란 18년보다 만족도가 높은, 꾸덕하고 찐득한 셰리가 무엇인지 알려주는 글렌드로낙18년,

잘 만든 고숙성 셰리 위스키가 주는 리치함에 약간의 스파이시를 얹어서 맛있게 풀어낸 글렌드로낙21년까지,

마셔보면(15는 애매해서 언급안할테야) 굳이 빌리옹 버젼이 아니여도 드로낙에 빠지기엔 충분하다.

(히히 실은 빌리어르신껀 못마셔봐서 하는 소리맞다.?????)

그리고 맞이해보는,

예전 batch9이 국내뿐 아니라 해외 위친자들 사이에서도 평이 안좋았었기에 batch11 구매 기회가 왔을때 살짝 고민되기

도 했었지만,

batch10이 호평이였고,그 바로 다음 배치였던 점.

그동안 레이첼 누나 버젼의 드로낙에서 실망이 없던 점.

드로낙과 같이 마스터로 있는 벤리악의 엔트리급인12년을 마셨을때도 만족했던 점.

등을 이유로 어쩌다 보니 두 보틀을 분양받았었다.

레이첼베리 폼 미츠따이!

분양 후 넘모 궁금해서 얼마 지나지 않아 뚜따를 강행.

NAS+CS 조합이라 혹시 모를 부즈가 살짝 걱정되서 시음은 10분정도 두었다 진행했다.

노즈에서는 시간을 두었어도 약간의 부즈는 느껴졌지만 생각보단 괜찮았다.

그리고 퍼지는 글렌알라키 같은 느낌의 초콜릿향과 드로낙 전형적인 셰리가 막 그냥 GomaSherry 뿌하하 뿜어져 나온다.

맛은 저~~멀리서 21년과 유사한 결이 느껴지는데 리치함이 좀 비어있는 느낌.

가볍게 혀를 살짝 자극해서 입맛을 더 돋구어주는 정도의 스파이시와 와인느낌의 달달함 그리고 노즈에서 느껴졌던 다크

초콜릿도 갖고 있다.

고도수 탓인지 피니쉬도 꽤 길고 여운이 짙은편.??

두병 사놓길 천만다행

혹시몰라 기회될때 두병을 샀었는데 잘샀다는 생각이 들었다.??

후에 위스키 모임 친구들에게도 맛보여줬는데 대부분 만족스러워함.??
경험상 CS들은 에어레이션되고 나면 더 만족도가 높아지는 경우가 많아서 조금씩 애껴 먹는 중이다.

이제 이 보틀을 끝으로 레이첼 누나는 무조건 믿기로 했다.(레이첼 폼 미쳤다!!??)

GlenDronach 12, the essential first step into sherry and a single glass that easily explains the difference between a blend and a single malt;

GlenDronach 18, which personally satisfies me more than Macallan 18 these days and shows you what thick, sticky sherry really is;

and GlenDronach 21, which takes the richness a well-made, long-aged sherry whisky gives you, adds a little spice on top, and delivers it deliciously.

Drink these (I'm not mentioning the 15 because it's kinda meh) and you don't need the Billy version to fall for Dronach.

(Hehe, honestly, I'm only saying that because I never got to try Grandpa Billy's stuff.?????)

Batch 9 got bad reviews among whisky fanatics not only here in Korea but overseas too, so when the chance came to buy Batch 11 I did hesitate a bit, but:

Batch 10 was well received, and this was the very next batch.

I'd never been disappointed by a Big Sis Rachel-era Dronach so far.

I was also happy when I tried the entry-level 12 from BenRiach, where she's also the master, same as at Dronach.

For reasons like these, one thing led to another and I ended up adopting two bottles.

After adopting them I was sooo curious that before long I went ahead and opened one.

Since it's a NAS + CS combo, I was a little worried about possible booze, so I let it sit for about 10 minutes before tasting.

On the nose, even after waiting, I could feel a bit of booze, but it was better than I expected.

Then a GlenAllachie-like chocolate aroma spreads out and classic Dronach sherry just comes gushing out all GomaSherry, bwahaha.

On the palate, from waaay off in the distance I sense a profile similar to the 21, but it feels like the richness is a bit hollow.

It has spice just enough to lightly tickle your tongue and whet your appetite even more, wine-like sweetness, and the dark chocolate from the nose too.

Maybe because of the high ABV, the finish is also pretty long with a deep linger.??

Thank goodness I bought two

I bought two just in case when I had the chance, and I thought, good call.??

Later I let my whisky group friends try it too, and most of them were satisfied.??
In my experience, CS bottles often get even more satisfying after some aeration, so I'm sipping it sparingly, bit by bit.

From this bottle on, I've decided to trust Big Sis Rachel unconditionally. (Rachel's in insane form!!??)
