두쫀쿠 × 글렌터렛 12년

사실 유행이나 트렌드에 집착하는 성향이 아니라서(특히 음식), 크게 관심 없었는데 들어가는 재료나 느낌이 위스키 안주로 괜찮을거 같단 생각에 나중에 인기식음 함 사먹어봐야겠다 하다 마침 좀 시들해진 분위기라 이번에 두 알 구매해서 위스키랑 먹어본,
그놈의 두쫀쿠.
(2두쫀쿠=1치킨은 여전히 좀 당혹스럽고 거부감이 들긴함)

맛은 생각외로 엄청 달달한 느낌은 아니였고 겉의 달콤씁쓸한 카카오파우더와 한입 물면 직관적으로 느껴지는 고소하고 아삭한 카다이프, 적당히 단맛과 너티함을 쌓아주는 피스타치오의 조합이 위스키 안주로 나쁘진 않은듯.(마시멜로의 쫀득함은 난 별루..)

근데 나중에 다시 위스키랑 페어링 할 만한 안주냐고,또 사먹겠냐고 물어보면 절대 naver.

가격적으로 터무니없고 그만한 만족감도 없음.
그만한 만족감이 없어서 가격이 터무니 없다고 느끼는 것일 수도.

그런면에서 내가 좋아하는 싱글몰트 위스키 안주는 물, 몽쉘, 아몬드빼빼로, 아페리프레 프로방스+하몽+크래커조합, 홈런볼, 석화(피트), 그날의 온도,분위기, 함께하는 사람 정도인듯.

두쫀쿠는 그냥 유행으로 흘려보내는걸로.

그나저나 글렌터렛12년은 가격이 조금씩 안정화 되는듯.
3~4년 전에 비해 위스키 열기가 다소 식은느낌이라 개인적으로 너무 좋다.
세상 사람들이 위스키에 계속 관심 없었음 좋겠다!😁

Honestly, I'm not the type to obsess over fads or trends (especially food), so I wasn't that interested, but the ingredients and the vibe made me think it might work as a whisky snack, so I kept telling myself I'd try it sometime once the hype died down. And since the craze seems to have cooled off a bit, I finally bought two and tried them with whisky -
the one and only Dubai chewy cookie.
(2 Dubai chewy cookies = 1 fried chicken still baffles me and puts me off a bit)

The taste was surprisingly not super sweet: the bittersweet cacao powder on the outside, the nutty, crunchy kadayif you get right away when you bite in, and the pistachio layering on moderate sweetness and nuttiness - as a combo, not bad as a whisky snack. (The marshmallow chewiness, not so much for me..)

But if you ask me whether it's a snack I'd pair with whisky again, or whether I'd buy it again - absolutely naver.

It's absurdly priced and doesn't deliver satisfaction to match.
Or maybe it feels absurdly priced precisely because it doesn't deliver that satisfaction.

In that sense, my favourite single malt whisky snacks are: water, Mon Cher cream cakes, almond Pepero, the Apérifrais Provence + jamón + crackers combo, Home Run Ball, rock oysters (with peat), and the temperature, the mood and the people I'm with that day - that's about it.

The Dubai chewy cookie, I'll just let it drift by as a fad.

Anyway, Glenturret 12 prices seem to be gradually stabilizing.
Compared to 3-4 years ago the whisky craze feels like it's cooled down a bit, which I personally love.
I hope the rest of the world stays uninterested in whisky!😁
