알콜향은 꽤 치는 편. 한잔을 굉장히 천천히 마셨음에도 찌르는 향은 쉽게 가시질 않음. 며칠 공기랑 더 연애 좀 시켜주고 다시 느껴봐야할 부분같다🙄
팔렛은 개인적인 경험을 토대로한 느낌 상 근래 마시고 있는 글렌드로낙cs 배치11과 글렌파클라스 105를 블렌딩한 느낌. 두가지 위스키의 장점들만 적절히 섞어놓은 느낌이다. 향에서 느껴진 그대로 맛에서도 꾸달꾸달함과 혀에 닿을때 느껴지는 탄닌같은 스파이시가 입안에 침을 생성시키고 혀에 뭔가 크림처럼 감싸도는 맛이있다. 마..마시써🤤🤤

보틀디자인,컬러,향,맛,피니쉬까지 전체적으로 정말 잘 만들어진 위스키라고 말해주고 싶......은데 아쉬운게 있다면, 국내에서 접근성이 굉장히 떨어짐.🧐 구하기가 쉽지 않고, 12년 숙성 치고는 가격도 상당함. 한병 더 사놔서 다행...😏

Starting off in a good mood, with the comfort and anticipation that come from the color alone!😋
It looks even deeper once it's in the glass. Maybe because of the ABV, the legs are suuuper slow and sticky~
The nose is very straightforward sherry. Thick-sweet-sticky-sticky-thick-sweet-thick-thick-sweet-sweet My nose feels like it's melting...🫠🫠🫠
The alcohol hits quite a bit. Even though I drank the glass very slowly, the prickly aroma didn't fade easily. I think I need to let it date the air a few more days and try it again🙄
On the palate, going by my personal experience, it feels like a blend of the GlenDronach CS Batch 11 and the Glenfarclas 105 I've been drinking lately. Like someone mixed just the best bits of both whiskies. Just like the nose, the palate is thick and sticky, and the tannin-like spice when it hits your tongue gets your mouth watering, and there's a flavor that wraps around your tongue like cream. So... so tasty🤤🤤
The finish lingers nicely from deep in the throat too, helping you take your time emptying a glass.
I haven't tried the bottles from other casks, so I'd love to experience them.
I'd like to say it's a really well-made whisky overall, from the bottle design, color, nose and palate all the way to the finish...... but if there's one letdown, it's very hard to get hold of in Korea.🧐 It's not easy to find, and pretty pricey for a 12-year-old. Glad I bought an extra bottle...😏

Is this the color you'd get if the factory foreman of some Scottish soy sauce factory decided to make whisky? It's just mercilessly pitch black.
It's natural color and only aged 12 years, yet it has such a rich, sultry look you'd think it had been aged 21 years. (Some people have the reasonable suspicion that after seasoning the cask they leave a bit of sherry inside before pouring in the spirit to mature, or that they absolutely wreck the inside of the cask when charring it in the first place... but only the factory foremen know the truth.)
From the moment I bought it, forget about how it might taste - I bought it purely because of the whisky's color and the shape of the bottle, completely brain-off, without ever having tried it.
Nobody sells it in Korea, and it was hard to get even via overseas direct purchase, but I got really lucky and managed to snag two bottles.
(It was the result of a true sucker's spirit - pay first, never mind the price - plus some lightning-fast clicking, and I've decided to call that luck.)
Anyway, the case for the Edradour 12 CS I'd seen online was a really flimsy-looking reddish-brown cylinder, but what actually arrived was a black case I'd never seen before - sturdier than the old one, but somehow even cheaper-looking. Pupil earthquake #1.
Wondering whether I'd been scammed or whether they'd switched to a new case design, I went to the official website, and it only had photos of the reddish-brown case, so I nearly wet myself. Pupil earthquake #2.
Later I found out it really was the new case, and the website had just been a bit slow to update. Phew~??

Also, I thought the two bottles I bought were from different casks, but when they arrived they turned out to be the same cask, so I was a little disappointed.
So, unavoidably, truly unavoidably, completely against my own will - it's gonna be so good - no no, that's not what I meant - unavoidably, I decided to crack one open and drink it. Is this seasoned soy sauce?

If you let it date the air for a few more days before drinking, the booze settles down and the spiciness softens a lot, but it's still a bit spicy-hot.?? Going by my personal experience, the palate feels like a blend of the GlenDronach CS Batch 11 and the Glenfarclas 105 I drank recently. It's like someone took just the strengths of those two whiskies and mixed them together nicely.
Just like on the nose, the palate has that thick, dense oloroso-style richness, plus a tannin-like spice when it touches the tongue that gets your mouth watering, and something that wraps around your tongue like cream.
The dried fruit and nut notes are really nice too.
